Antiques GalleryAs previously mentioned, we maintain a physical presence in two fine Hudson River Valley antiques centers located in Greene County, NY. The Coxsackie Antique Center (518-731-8888) is located in a rather picturesque field just off the NYS Thruway in the town of New Baltimore, which is just over the line from its former home in West Coxsackie. The owners have recently constructed this very large, state-of-the-art, well-lit center with a 15,000 square foot one-floor sales area. The Coxsackie Antique Center is a Repro-Free Zone, with a very strict policy on fakes. Open 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., seven days a week. In addition to my books, old magazines, ephemera, post cards, and photographica, you will find a good assortment of furniture, vintage clothing and linens, records on vinyl, kitchen collectibles, framed prints, smalls, and other items too numerous to mention. And if I don't have something that catches your fancy along the back wall or in a showcase, one of the other 99 dealers is sure to. Peruse their website at http://www.coxsackie.com for more details. If you head south for a bit on Route 9W to West Coxsackie and make a right onto Route 81 heading west, you will wind up at the classy DeWitt Hotel Antiques (518-239-6960) in the charming village of Oak Hill, NY. Wonderful pieces abound, with an emphasis on primitive and period furniture and fine porcelain. I keep a room of books upstairs and a cookbook section on the ground floor of this nice old former hotel on the banks of the Catskill Creek. Call for further details. Order from the online catalog and get free (though leisurely) delivery to either of these locations. The same goes for eBay items.
